Card Sets & Groups

Recognizing Built-in Subtle Connections and Influences

Using any language system and terminology therein, requires that users grasp the importance of context and embedded information.

Sets, in this system, are Cards bearing the same border color. In addition, their Role ICON will appear in the upper left corner of the card (a theatrical mask). They may be usually seen as the (vertical) Columns in the Overleaf Chart. However, not all sets are represented on the Overleaves Chart, but you may visualize all of them on the Overleaves-Color-Chart-Brochure-Inner, which shows all of the associations on a single page. (For those who have purchased an actual physical Deck, you will find this Chart on the inner fold of the 3-fold brochure which came with the Set.

Sets, have a “master” or superordinate overarching Archetypal quality that is suffused into each subordinate aspect.  Thus, looking downward in a column, you will notice, for example that the King Role (Superordinate) has as its embedded Attitude – Realist. Other examples using this process of association, means that the Artisan Role (superordinate) has as its embedded Center – Intellectual. The Scholar Role, (again the overarching container) has as its subordinate aspects: Goal – Relaxation, Mode of Observation, and Body Type of Solar.

All of the Cards from a Set have a resonant portion or quality associated with its archetypal Role. For the purpose of “reading the Cards” in your Spreads, it is a subtle but important subtext indicating that the Cards might have a “flavoring” of a Role or Roles, when more than one of a Set appears.

Groups, in this system, are those Cards that are aspects of the same type of thing, i.e. (Goals, Modes, Attitudes, etc.) and characterize a specific option of that group. These appear as the (horizontal) Rows. See below, the Roles Group, Goal Group, Attitude Group, Chief Feature Group, Mode Group, Centers Group, and Body Type Group. Each member of the Group will have a different border color. That color is derived from the Role SET, it is a part of. However, there is a unifying ICON for each of the Groups as well. It is noted on the Chart next to its Title on the left. This same image appears on all the 7 members of the Group in the upper right corner.

Deriving Additional Meaning

Sets: As mentioned briefly, the main realization from a “Set” association means an emphasis of that Energy Influence having bearing in your Spread.

Groups: If one sees a several members represented as part of a Spread, it can mean that the Group type is an issue. If you have several Covenant Cards, it could reflect something significant about the nature of your Agreements made this life, by you or those with you. Thus a review of those concerns could be a pertinent clue as to the background circumstances or influences “beneath” the obvious.

Sets and Groups, Numbers and Colors Defined

* The numbering of each of the cards and their choice of sequence has been determined by me, the author. The Seven Role numbers do match those giving from the original Michael Teaching materials. With #1 assigned to Server and #7 assigned to King. However, the way that cards have been ordered and numbered reflects the priority and interpretation differences presented within the Applied Michael Approach© (AMA); of which, the Michael Motivation Cards™(MMC) are a product. More will be presented on other pages. You can hear discussions of the logic and reasons for these alterations in my “How-To” Course Recordings.
